Căminul pentru Persoane Vârstnice, hotel de cinci stele! – a exclamat mai toată presa din Craiova, la recenta lui dare în folosință sub înfățișare nouă. Momentan chiar că nu-i trebuie reclamă. După ce s-a mediatizat modernizarea lui, a crescut foarte mult numărul cererilor de internare. Căminul are 320 de locuri de cazare, mai bine zis le va avea disponibile pe toate la sfârșitul anului, când se va termina pe de-a-ntregul reabilitarea. Mai e puțin de lucru. La ora asta avem 303 persoane cazate.
Cum se procedează cu cererile, cum se aprobă?
În ordinea depunerii lor. Cine nu mai găsește loc în cămin stă pe lista de așteptare, iar așteptarea nu durează mai mult de două săptămâni.
Se întâmplă să auzi de câte unul: „A băgat-o pe mă-sa la azil“. Poate să facă asta fără acordul mamei sale?
Nu. Bătrânul trebuie să-și dea acordul, excepție fac doar cei bolnavi de Alzheimer. Criteriile de admitere: să fie obligatoriu din Craiova, să aibă cel puțin 57 de ani femeile și 62 bărbații. Vârsta a scăzut de la 62, respectiv 65, la inițiativa mea, în 2013, fiindcă aveam foarte multe cereri de la pensionați medical care nu atingeau pragul acelor ani. Oricum, o comisie analizează cazurile și primește oamenii în cămin, nu vine nimeni de pe stradă să ne lase bătrânul la poartă.
Șederea la Azil se plătește. Ne spuneți suma?
În mod normal, 700 de lei pe lună, care înseamnă: cazarea, trei mese și două gustări pe zi, asistență medicală și consiliere juridică. Dacă omul are pensia mai mică de 700, aparținătorul pune diferența. Dacă nu există aparținător, bătrânul plătește 80 % din pensia lui. Are 500 de lei pensie, plătește 400. Și mai avem douăzeci de cazuri sociale, oameni fără niciun venit, pentru care achită Primăria.

Ce înseamnă înnoirea aceasta a Azilului?
Cu 2,5 milioane de euro, fonduri europene, am făcut o renovare totală. Am schimbat instalațiile, am zugrăvit, am pus mobilier nou și covor antiseptic peste tot. Lift, rampe pentru cărucioare. Zece luni e durata renovării.

Aveți oameni care au fost cineva până să se retragă la Azil?
Avem și profesor universitar.
Sunt bătrânii mai înțelepți decât media populației? S-a întâmplat să vă dea vreunul un sfat neprețuit?
Nu cred. Sigur, poți să-i asculți, ai ce învăța de la ei, sunt atâtea povești de viață. Dar mi se par mai obositori decât bătrânii din familie. Vinerea am program de audiență cu ei. Unul vine să reclame că nu-l vizitează nepoții, altul că nu-i place colegul de cameră… Zici că-s copii.

Un bătrân cu Alzheimer a ieșit odată, l-a ajutat un coleg să iasă. Unul trecut în acte Ion Ionel, nu-și mai cunoștea numele real. A dispărut. După două zile, am dat de el sunând pe la spitale. Ajunsese alături, la cardiologie, că avea probleme și cu inima, și nu știa nimic despre el. Spitalul mare e la doi pași, dar nu ținea minte pe unde să se întoarcă la noi. Sau că s-ar putea întoarce la noi.

Nu știu pe nimeni să aibă.

În cămin, nu. Și nici să bea în altă parte atât încât să se vadă efectul. L-am avut cazat pe nenea care cântă la flaut în față la Franolta. Din cauză de macheală, l-am dat afară.
