Tânărul Y a plecat din Novaci la Craiova în preziua meciului, cu un prieten. (Y nu e numele său din buletin, omul are azi nepoţi, iar fapta de mai jos a bunicului nu e un exemplu de urmat pentru ei.) Cu rata până-n Cărbuneşti, de unde au suit în trenul de Craiova. Primul lor obiectiv trecut pe listă era restaurantul Feroviarul, din clădirea gării.
Ceauşescu încă nu se ţicnise de-a binelea, localurile nu trăgeau obloanele la zece seara, cum avea să se întâmple peste câţiva ani, fără nicio pandemie, iar cel din gară ţinea deschis binişor după miezul nopţii. Novăcenii noştri au ajuns după-amiază spre seară, făcându-şi socoteala că stau la Feroviarul cât le permite programul, după care trag un pui de somn în sala de aşteptare şi o iau agale către Central. Să poposească la vreo cârciumă şi-n ziua meciului nu mai aveau timp: localurile nu serveau alcool până la 10, dacă vă vine să credeţi, în caz că n-aţi trăit acele vremuri, iar ei la ora aia era musai să se afle pe stadion, să apuce loc, fiindcă meciul începea pe la 13, Centralul neavând nocturnă, dacă vă puteţi imagina una ca asta.
După câte vreo două halbe, au zis să şi mănânce, să aibă vlagă să strige pentru Iliuţă şi Cami. Chelneriţa le-a prezentat meniul: peşte prăjit, peşte pane, chifteluţe de peşte, peşte cu… şi n-a mai apucat să spună cu ce, a întrerupt-o Y: „Îmi bag pula-n el de peşte!”.
Nu l-a putut însă nimeni acuza pe Y c-a urmărit să-şi înfăptuiască spusele, fiindcă n-a cerut nimic de mâncare. Au mai luat ei un rând de bere Periniţa (dacă meciul s-ar fi jucat în deplasare, ar fi comandat vin de Bordeaux) şi, până să-l termine, în restaurant au intrat doi miliţieni cărora şefa de sală li i-a arătat cu degetul pe Y şi tovarăşul său: „Ei sunt!”.
Aşa a rezolvat Y problema culcuşului pentru noaptea care stătea să vină: în arestul Miliţiei. Totuşui, miliţienii au fost umani: unul dintre ei l-a tras deoparte pe prietenul lui Y şi i-a spus să vină a doua zi dimineaţă să-l aştepte la poarta Miliţiei. Cică miliţienii au fost umani până la capăt, că-n acea noapte nu l-au torturat pe arestatul fără forme legale şi nici nu l-au pus la şmotru.
Y n-a aflat până-n ziua de azi, şi nu vedem cum ar putea-o face de azi înainte, dac-a plătit pentru măscări la adresa regimului politic sau a chelneriţei.
